AAR 25th Anniversary
The Rotary Club of Bweyogerere in partnership with AAR Uganda held several health camps. National health camps were flagged off on 9th May 2013 at the Century Bottling Plant in Namanve with the inaugural one there. The major objectives of the health camps were to create health awareness, and also offer free medical services to various categories of people in the communities of Kira town council, and Mukono district for free.AAR also provided a stand -by ambulance.
The health camps attracted more than 1000 people. There were various clinics where people were attended to. For instance; safe male circumcision, malaria treatment, provision of mosquito nets, HIV testing and counseling, breast and cervical cancer screening, optical check -up, diabetes and blood pressure check-up, blood donation, de-worming, family planning, immunization, and dental services.
It is important to note that our health related CSR activities do not only include free treatment but activities that protect the environment. All our Medical waste is disposed off professionally even outside our clinics. Special dustbins and safety boxes are used at all times. According to the AAR Healthcare Ltd Environmental Policy, it is the policy of the AAR Healthcare to promote good health, well-being, and occupational safety for its patients, employees, and visitors. This policy endorses programmes which engage in safe disposal of hazardous waste and waste effluents.
AAR Ntinda partnered with Mount Olive SDA church on April 21, 2013 to organize a medical outreach. The AAR team carried out free BMI measurements,HIV testing and counselling, blood pressure check- up, and doctor consultations. The outreach also had lab tests for syphilis, malaria , and urinalysis.
Kyadondo Rugby Club hosted the semi finals of the Nile special Super 8 Rugby league matches on March 23, 2013. One of the matches was between Toyota Buffaloes and the MTN Heathens. We are the official medical sponsor of the Toyota Buffaloes. AAR Uganda signed a medical sponsorship agreement with Kyadondo Rugby club early this year. This sponsorship deal has greatly improved injury risk management and reduced the high medical costs the club was been paying annually.
